Jennifer Hama, MS, LPC, CPCS

My mission is to transform your life!

People pleasers, caretakers, perfectionists! You don’t have to struggle anymore!

Are you a Superhero?

Let me help you begin to say yes to yourself! Chances are you’ve been in this pattern of putting others first and setting unrealistic goals for yourself for a long time, but you don’t have to. Together, we can examine why these patterns developed and create new patterns that help you to achieve balance and freedom to live your life. We can begin to help you feel like you are enough just the way your are.

Why do I do this?

Perfectionism and people pleasing probably began a long time ago for you and helped at one point, but now it is working against you.

With your hard work and my direction, we can identify the underlying unresolved issues that lead to a pattern of putting yourself last, overbooking yourself, and running on an empty tank. We can identify unhealthy patterns and relationships that have contributed to this and can begin to help you choose how and with whom you spend your time.

Once identified, we will challenge these underlying beliefs and you will begin to experience relief. You will begin to feel in control of your life instead of being controlled by your schedule, job, or relationship. Growth and balance are around the corner.

How can you help me?

So, who is Jennifer, anyway?

Okay, so I’ve been professional for most of this page. Now can we just talk about who I am and how I work?

In case you can’t tell, I have a core belief that a sense of humor is essential to living a fulfilling life. And I like to recognize mine. Regularly.

I hate laundry and psychobabble, but I love uncensored real talk. It’s necessary for you to know this because this is how therapy works, we have to be real and sometimes we have to be real about the hard things.

Also, I have a white board that I go everywhere with. While it’s entertaining to watch me roll it around the office while trying not to trip, it’s also a powerful therapy tool, helping you visualize your struggles and brainstorm solutions. I don’t do “therapy speak, ” I shoot straight, and believe in giving you practical tools to help you change your life.

What about all your boring credentials?

I obtained my Master’s of Science degree in Professional Counseling from Georgia State University in 2007. While in residence, I completed my practicum and internship at Peachford Behavioral Health Systems.

I had virtually every job there, including director of social services and director of outpatient services. During my tenure, I worked with a myriad of populations and issues, and bring that varied experience to benefit you.

I am a licensed professional counselor and a certified professional counselor supervisor in the state of Georgia. I spend half of my time at the office working with clients and the other half training new therapists.

I believe in advocacy and giving back to the community. In my spare time, I volunteer for the National Alliance for the Mentally Ill, Green Cross Academy of Traumatology, and Georgia Public Safety and Training Center to educate and provide resources to our community for mental health needs.
